Welcome to the Eastland CUSD #308 Technology Department
Technology should be like oxygen,“ubiquitous, necessary, and invisible.”- Chris Lehmann
The mission of the Technology Department is to build a solid and comprehensive technology infrastructure, maintain an efficient and effective operating environment, and deliver high quality and timely services that support the School District's mission to enhance student learning and achievement with an emphasis on developing knowledge and skills that will be required of a 21st century citizen by providing each student and teacher with direct, consistent access to 21st century learning tools.
In the 2011-2012 academic year, Eastland expanded the district's Digital Conversion Program by implementing a 1:1 for our 9th–12th grade students. Each student was assigned a laptop and, with parent permission, took their laptops home. The 1:1 program has expanded over the past several years with grades 5-12 in a traditional take home model and grades 2-4 1:1 within their classrooms. For the 2015-2016 school year the 1:1 will include all grades K-12. Our mission in implementing this program is to provide a digitally-rich, student-centered environment that promotes creativity and critical thinking in learning.
