[HEALTH & WELLNESS AT EASTLAND]

As the new Nurse, I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve our school district.  My main goals for the upcoming year are to advocate for our students’ health and well-being, educate about important health issues, create individual health plans for students with health concerns, triage daily student needs, act accordingly to any emergent situations, and set up plans to avoid any preventable emergencies.  Parents and guardians play such a huge role in school health care.  If we work together, we can ensure that all of our students have a positive, healthy and safe learning environment at Eastland.  If you have any questions or concerns at all, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.  I’d be more than happy to chat with you about your child, and work together with your family to create an atmosphere in our schools that promotes student health and wellness.

Sincerely,

Brittany Becker, RN

[REMINDERS]

If your child needs to take any medications at school on a daily or as needed basis, a medication authorization form must be completed by a Licensed Health Care Provider and signed by a parent or guardian before it can be administered here.  Medications must be supplied in the original container and kept in either the nurse’s office or main office.  The only exception of this rule applies to Inhalers and EpiPens.  If parents or guardians have signed the back of our medication authorization form permitting self-administration of these, the child may carry them at school.  If your child uses either, please remember the importance of supplying these lifesaving medications promptly at the beginning of the school year for the safety and well-being of your children.
